Apple released their 2020 Pride Edition Sport Bands for Apple Watch on May 18, 2020.

Today Apple announced its 2020 Pride Edition Sports Bands! Now in its fourth year, this is the first time the Pride Bands has been made available as a Sport Band, with previous years' designs coming in the Sport Loop (2019) and the now Discontinued Woven Noyon (2017/2018) styles. And for the first time, Apple has also released a second, Nike+ version of the Pride Sport Band.

Introduced with the Pride Edition Sport Band is a new manner with which the band has been fashioned. While some Sport Bands have used a two-tone look - the perforated Nike+ & Apple Watch Series 3 Edition - this is the first time we've seen the multicoloured banding on a Sport Band. Apple listed how it achieved this process on its product page:

"The Pride Edition Sport Band is assembled by hand from individual strips of colored fluoroelastomer. The strips are then machine die-cut and compression molded together. This process results in subtle variations in the wavy rainbow design, making each band artfully unique."

The Pride Edition Nike Sport Band is more understated consisting of a white band with the Pride colours inset into the compression-molded perforations of the band.

Apple states that a portion of its proceeds go toward various international LGBTQ advocacy & community-build efforts, including to organizations such as "GLSEN, PFLAG, The Trevor Project, Gender Spectrum, The National Center for Transgender Equality, and ILGA World."

The new bands arrive alongside several new Pride watch faces that became available with the release of WatchOS 6.2.5 on Monday afternoon.
